I've just bought this red 83 924 from a friend who's getting divorced and had to get rid of it (he's asked for first refusal if we decide to sell). She's been part of his car collection for the last ten years and consequently is suffering from lack of use. But we will get there. The condition is first rate, and surprisingly the interior is original with no splits rips or signs or wear - surprising for its 92000 miles. She is suffering from an annoying tap for the engine, any advice would be welcomed, sounds like a tappet but these have been done three times and treble checked. When cold on tickover its there; rev the engine to 2000 rpm and it all but goes and the warmer the engine gets the quieter it gets, this is combined with starting problem, she starts on one cylinder then at similar intervals the other cylinders join in one after the other, its as if the fuel is draining when the car is stood! Anyway back to the car she's Guards Red with the cross spoke alloys and rear spoiler, the interior is black with a black/white check insert to the seats.

Beautiful metallic burgundy 924 auto lux. Pretty much standard, but I'm just about to change that. Plan to fit wider wheels and warm up the engine a little.

84VanderZee2.jpg (144876 bytes)It's grand prix white with an electric sunroof and 4-lug spiderwebs. I bought the car in December '98. At the time it had 179k km on the clock. The was originally sold in Germany and imported to the Netherlands in 1996. The previous owners have taken good care of the car as the maintenance records prove. I've got the owners manual with maintenance records from new. It's in a good condition and still original. There are some minor faults though that will be taken care of during the summer of 2000. I plan to get the car perfect in the next few years. I enjoy driving the 924. It does feel like an old car but the handling is perfect and it comes to life once you've picked up some speed. I'm lucky to live in a rather rural part of my country where there are still quiet country roads without speedtraps so I can drive it the way it should.84VanderZee.jpg (146983 bytes)84VanderZeeinterior.jpg (78350 bytes)

HI,
My name is Zdeslav Perkovic and I live in Zagreb,Croatia, Europe. I'm married and have one son who is a big Porsche fan too. I have a normally aspirated Porsche 924, '83 production year. The car is my pride and joy . Therefore, I've decided to join 924 GARAGE in order to exchange some ideas and to meet some new friends.

118,000 miles but still runs very smoothly. Generally well looked after by previous owners but have had to rebuild the rear brakes. A serious oil leak turned out to a blocked crankcase breather tube. Several other minor problems sorted. Hope to fix some bodywork dents in the near future, and maybe do some work on the interior.

102k miles. This is my first Porsche. I bought it end of 1997 with no service history, but with a straight body and a clean, dry interior, which was what I wanted (didn't want to have to fix ;-)). She needed a new clutch and exhaust immediately, and the head gasket appeared to be leaking (oil in header tank, though no water in oil) so I overhauled the top end, turning up a broken valve spring on the way. I'd bought new ones anyway. Looks and runs a treat now, so I'm learning to enjoy her from the drivers seat instead of under the hood. See the Rose website at:  www.rosehome.co.uk

Silver grey metallic What can I say. Automatic with only 47000 miles totally original with black/white pinstripe interior. She's a beauty my pride and joy. However she can be a bit of a problem starting when left alone for an hour or so after a long run. Any ideas?.All the usual tests check out ok.Give me an e-mail with any ideas or just to say hello
